About cards & cash

Most credit cards are accepted in the country, such as Mastercard and Visa; some ATMs now also accept Maestro. Remember your valid PIN and ask your bank whether your cards are activated for use in Namibia, South Africa, Botswana & Zimbabwe. If you are also travelling to Botswana and/or Zimbabwe, please also bring US dollars in cash.

At Windhoek Airport you can easily get cash from an ATM or exchange cash at the numerous exchange offices. ATMs are available in most towns but often limit you to NAD 2,000 per transaction — you can withdraw multiple times per day up to your agreed daily limit.
